QUESTION:

If a close family member reported you to child services just for revenge, and you did nothing wrong, is it ok to NEVER speak to them again?

I don't condone the other person crying wolf on child services, but IMHO people don't commit such horrible acts against other family members for no apparent reason. It makes me think you somehow damaged them in some way otherwise it's not revenge. Before I vote on this I'd like to know what they are avenging.

But yah, I wouldn't talk to them if they did this. It's very low what they did.

isnt it possible the family members are just nasty people with small lives and maybe just jealous of the other person they falsely reported?

Yes, there are nasty people in the world, but they are the exception not the rule. If it is strictly jealousy, then shame on them.

With the caveat that the reporting was completely unjustified, you are definitely within your moral rights to disown that family member.

just remember, that report never goes away from your record. i would add an assault charge to that once i saw the person again.
