Religion is not a crock of bleep. It gives people hope, it gives peopls guidance in their daily lives. It is something you can't measure through science, it's based on faith. I don't go to church every day or week even. It's just something I feel overall is better in a persons life than not.
I voted yes because I've chosen not to follow any one religion. However I don't think it's misleading. Each person can decide on what they believe in. It's only when you stop having faith/stop believing that you feel you've been mislead.
I don't think there's a heaven or hell nor the idea that if we do good deeds or if we pray to the right god that we'll go to heaven. I never could wrap my head around those ideas and that last part definitely creates tension between all religious groups because it sets up that one is supposed to be right and others wrong.
Ányone trying to base their lifestyle on an unprovable set of beliefs is a moron. Sorry but it's true. Religious people accept blindly that which dictates their life choices and behaviours with a level of defference and trust that they would not abide in a court of law. All of the main religions are contradictory to each other and none of them are more believable than any of the others.
The fact that religion might keep people in line or give them hope is not an excuse. We have perfectly rational reasons for why people should get along and avoid violence. The benefits of religion are debqatable, all positives that we see are also present in non believers in equal or greater quantities and we see plenty of examples of violence and injustice that could not be justified without the help of religion.
it has its uses. other than the good it promotes conflicts, racism, hatred, etc.. throughout history its has caused more deaths than it has in saving lives. it is also the best tool the gov. uses to control the population.

We don't need it any more, live in the now.
