I'm going be a little extreme here... Guy in a tailored suit and second guy in tattered clothes and strong smell of alcohol. I could be totally wrong about who's the professional and who's the problem alcoholic but i would still initially judge by their looks.
Upon first impression, you can assume a lot based on a person's looks. Confidence, how they take care of themselves, how organized they are, what they might be into, how bold/daring/exciting they are, maybe even what their career is, etc.
Never understimate the value of a good first impression.
