QUESTION:

Do you think there will be more Android phone users than iPhone users in 3 years?

I will personally pay $5 to the person (you must have a PayPal account) who writes the comment that gets the most number of "likes" on this question. Deadline is this Friday, 09/03/2010 at 5pm PST. Good luck to all.

I say no simply because the iphone has a better user interface, and the app store is so extensive. As soon as Apple's contract runs out with AT@T and they are on different providers the number of iphone users will grow alot!

Apple has such a huge lead right now in the smart phone market it's almost like the lead PCs had over MACs in the desktop world. Three years is not long enough for Android to overtake the iPhone. Apple will play well with the lead and keep innovating to keep Android in 2nd place. I vote no.

I'm going with yes. I personally like the iPhone better, but I kind of compare Android with how Windows eventually overtook Macs and other operating systems in the late 80s and 90s. Android has an "open" platform while Apple will always be closed. Android is being sold on a bunch of phones (HTC, Motorola, Samsung, etc). Apple will never license their OS to other phone manufacturers. 3 years should be enough time.
