Do you think Matt Lauer and The Today Show are in the wrong in the recent Kanye West interview?

I'm specifically referring to how Kanye was treated on the show. Matt Lauer interviewed him and part of the interview was shown on TV on Thursday, 11/11/10. Kanye felt that Matt was trying to elicit certain responses from him by playing different clips. Kanye also had a problem with the Taylor Swift VMA clip being played while he was talking - which is something done regularly on The Today Show.

I think they are in the wrong in the sense that they were trying to incite Kanye to act like a fool or say something bad. I have a feeling Matt Lauer doesn't much like Kanye and so his bias shows a bit. But then again it's just TV. When the Today Show gets a guest like Kanye to come on, they want some fireworks to go off. They want this to be the interview that everyone talks about. Also Kanye makes himself a target in this way. It's his own fault. His brash actions and weird behavior begs the questions Matt was asking. Sadly I think Kanye will be remembered equally for his strange antics as much as his musical genius.
