Yes. But that's been happening for centuries. Society allows this one because those poor women competing actually think it's ok. Do your homework though this pageant is going to the shits. Ratings are off, no one cares, less entries, less sponsors. And it aired on TLC? Why were yu watching TLC?
Me thinks those women are gorgeous. It's a beauty contest for crying out loud. Anyone who thinks it more than that or tries to pretend it's not is being unrealistic.
so the olympics are about skill, and Miss America is about the skill of appearing as hot as possible with passable brain power. who cares if it objectifies anyone, there is an audience that likes it.
