Do cats make better pets than dogs?

Some cats are selfish, they get annoyed when you pick them up but at the same time they don't bother you when you are busy.

Cats are like mini lions... and lions are cool. Dogs are nice but they need more attention then i am able to offer.

I have both a cat and a dog and they're wonderful pets but sometimes the cat doesn't want to play with the dog.

Cats are better because you don't have to walk them two or three times a day, they don't bark whenever you have visitors, and they're independent but still loving and cuddly.

Do cats even count as pets?

Are we objectifying cats and dogs with this question?

I have a male dog and a female cat and maybe its because I'm a women but I think cats make better pets. My cat is very affectionate to me which so is my dog but I find myself preferring the cat, I just find male dogs nasty. Plus my dog I have to let outside to use the bathroom and back inside where my cat just uses a litter box. I just find the cat is less work and sweetier.
