this is probably the most important comment i've ever made on this site so far -
that pic is not Darth Vader, it's Dark Helmet. you know, Lord Dark Helmet, commander of Space Balls' Imperious Forces - and also Lone Star's father's, brother's, nephew's, cousin's, former roommate.
On a whole, Google has not missed on very many initiatives. Integration of social platforms is much more palatable to the general public and should catch on quicker.
I think it's going to be more successful than FaceBook or Twitter. One single reason: 60% of FaceBook's/Twitter's users actually found out about them by GOOGLE or by SITES RELATING TO GOOGLE. (I.E. A google search went to a page with a ad about facebook or "Follow us on Twitter thing", or "Become a Fan"). I think Google will me more successful. But i am not likely of the idea Google getting all this "advanced". I think Google would been better JUST as a Searh Engine. Working so we get better results... However, there are some good things. Like Google Maps. Whatever... This is a good question... But going on the REAL question, not getting all Scientifical and Business: I think it will be successful.
@slick: You made me roll on the floor laughting... A search engine, mainly.
