I'll dine anywhere from a 3 star Michelin rated restaurant to a hole in the wall in a dark alley, but I don't consider myself a foodie. I just like food!
San Franciscan foodies are the worst. I'm over the whole organic fettish, and I whole heartedly agree with Bourdain: bit.ly/arirPL and David Chang: bit.ly/aBKaMf. I know a certain restaurant in SF where the "chef" takes herself way too seriously...and she never F-ing studied formally and took classes at Sur la Table. That's B-Star-upidish in my opinion.
I would have to say I'm def a foodie, but I look at it as I like good food in general. It may be fast food, it may be cheap food, it may be expensive food, but I still like it. Being a foodie doesn't really mean it has to be expensive all the time, just good and maybe cutting edge once in a while.
A "Food Snob" is a good simplistic description. Fresh products, quality over quantity. NO FAST FOOD!
