I've never known the true distinction between hip-hop, rap, R&B, etc. Are all rappers considered to be in hip-hop? Can you be an R&B artist but still be labeled a hip-hop artist?

I always thought R&B was slow songs while hip-hop was for fast songs.

Hip-Hop is a culture. Rap & R&B are genres of music. The culture basically has 4 elements: MCing, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti. Basically MCing and DJing form the foundation of a rap song.

And Hip-Hop will never be dead.

I never liked that hip hop stuff. Kenny Chesney had a liver performance on youtube where he tried doing a little rap bit. I haven't listened to him since.
