QUESTION:

When you're offered free samples (ie: the food at Costco), do you go back for seconds?

This question assumes of course you like the product that they are offering. And basically asks if you would ever take more than the single offering they put out for everyone to be able to test their product.

I've gone back for thirds a few times. Another question might be have you ever actually bought the sampled product after tasting the sample. I'm a sucker for those mini corndogs.

I don't think it's unreasonable to get seconds assuming that you really are thinking of buying it. The first taste was to try it to second taste was to verify your decision.

90% of the time I have no intention of buying the item: but when at Costco, I feel they owe to me as an appetizer for the $1.50 I'm already paying for a polish dog and soda(=

I've always thought $1.5 for a polish dog was a bargain though.

Same here. You couldn't get a better deal that than dog and soda, along with the pizza.

that comment was meant as sarcasm, b/c $1.50 for a meal already is great - but I like to get more still.

...and the third, fourth and fifth tastes are to make sure you don't get sick of it!

I hate people with poor free sample etiquette though. Once I was attempting to get a product that came out of an oven, and the guy ahead of me took the last two remaining. He could clearly tell that I was planning on trying a sample, but that didn't stop him from taking the last two meaning I'd have to wait for another batch to cook before sampling. Please, when taking free samples, be sure to take just one at a time so that others may try it out too before you take all the remaining.

Just to let you all know, while he was eating his samples someone may have gone into his cart and removed a few select small items from it - hopefully making it so he wouldn't realize the items were missing until he needed them after he got home.

I think of costco as a free buffet of little bites that is a lot of fun. However i often leave thinking what the heck did i just eat? My stomach is filled with halves of pot stickers, some yogurt smoothie, nuts, some shrimp salad spread, sausage, and a couple meatballs... plus the mandatory hotdog and fountain coke.... bleh!

That's gotta be a meal that covers all the necessary food groups for a balanced diet.

If there is a huge line, which there usually is, I won't bother stopping. I just want to get in and out of that place.

When it's super crowded, I try and just relax to avoid unnecessary stress. You know, hit up all the food carts a few times (skipping the energy bar ones, those things are nasty!), and just enjoy myself best I can in the crowd.

I can't believe when people get just a small bit of something they like, a majority say that's enough - no more for me. Is it b/c of the embarrassing factor of getting more?
For me, if it's something I like, that small sample just teases me into needing to get more. I'll make sure others have the opportunity to get some, but I will definitely get more - I like it, how could I not? No shame I guess.

If there's no one looking, i'd probably take the whole tray but i don't want everyone looking at me. I don't know, I guess there's something to be embarrassed about.

I tried to get seconds on a sample once and the lady yelled at me and said only one sample per person
