If I got a nickle for each time my mom said, "So and so got a 4.0...or got into Stanford..or is a doctor...," I'd have like $200 bucks or something.

Me too. My parents often compared me to other cousins who were/are more successful. I had a lot of pressure to do well especially in college. I hope I do not put that type of pressure on my kids when that day comes.

I don't think my parents really admired the other kids, they just wondered why I had a 2.67 GPA and a smoking habit when everyone else was getting into Yale or something.
