People always say they have no regrets, but I don't know how this could be. Really, no regrets? It's one thing to be content and not dwell on the past; but no regrets, not even a small one?
No one has led a perfect life, so how do you not regret anything? Even if you're happy with how things turned out, couldn't you be more happy with at least one small change?

I agree with you that no one has lived a perfect life. You're taking it too literally though with "no regrets." It's more of a mind set.

I'd probably regret kicking the bucket.

@ stergeron:
I tend to think of having no regrets differently than being a mind set. For me, I'm of the mind set to stay positive no matter what my situation is. But when people say they have no regrets, I think it means they wouldn't want to change anything in their past.

Well, for someone in their 100's (which does happen, but you're right, it doesn't happen that often), they probably wouldn't have any regrets.

there's a quote that says "never regret anything in your life because at one time it was exactly what you wanted"

Damn that's deep. But that would also imply that we tend to want things that we will regret.

I am so confused? Why would I regret kicking over a bucket? I guess it could be messy but its not that big of a deal. I think you guys are way over thinking this...
