Do you enjoy non-work related celebrations at work?

Non work related celebrations include someone's birthday, someone's new baby, someone's getting married, and holiday celebrations.

Work related celebrations are when someone is getting promoted, or getting laid off :(

I enjoyed it more on my previous job because my coworkers were the same age group as me and we were mostly college students. Now with this company, it's not as fun but I still appreciate their efforts in taking us out every quarter and during special occassions. Gotta enjoy it while the company can still afford it!

With some coworkers, those whom I'm friends with, I enjoy celebrations with. But sometimes, there's celebrations I endure with those in the office whom I'm not friends with - and that's b/c of office politics reasons.

I think it's the fact that you are forced into going and you can't use the excuse that you have a lot of work to do cuz they'll call you out on it.

If there are more than 50% women in the office it's a given you are going to be doing the happy birthday bagels for every person. I once had a job where 95% of us were guys and this stuff never went on.
