I think part of that is true. I don't think medical doctors made that up, but by mental doctors who probably don't have much to do but come up with names of problems that people have. It appears that there's a name for any combination of mental state that you can think of.
ADHD is legit. Probably under diagnosed but that's because it didn't have a name. But now it seems like lots of people saying they have ADHD. Almost like they wear it as a badge that gives them a free pass to have a short attention span. Having said that, I think sometimes I have ADHD hahaha.
Nope. Not made up at all. People just tend to self diagnose themselves and just freely flat out say that they have ADHD which is giving doctors a bad wrap.
What some people don't know is that you have to go through a series of physical and written assessments for doctors to confirm a diagnosis of ADHD. It's a very detailed process.
i don't think that is is necessarily "made up." i feel that some young kids are being miss-diagnosed at times though. Almost all little kids have a lot of energy especially boys and because they have soo much energy and can't sit still people are saying they must have ADHD when they really don't. i do believe ADHD is a real diagnosis just too many people are being diagnosed wrong.
Most psychological diagnoses are somewhat abstract, including ADHD, but there is no reason to say that ADHD is made up and other psychological disorders, like depression, aren't.
