These two consoles were released pretty far back. Here I go:
Playstation 2 had way more games but all their games took forever to load. Nintendo 64 had a lot less games but it ran so fast.
I prefer the Nintendo 64 joystick a lot more than playerstation joystick and I actually think it was probably the best joystick that was ever invented.
Play station 2 games seem to be focused more on single player while I think Nintendo was more focused on party games. Correct me if I'm wrong but playstation only had 2 controllers while Nintendo 64 could utilizes 4.
The list you provided pretty much is a good indicator for the type of games that these two consoles release. PS2 seems to aim at single/two player games while n64 aim for group and party fun.

Nintendo also had Super Smash Bros.
PS2: Gran Turismo, FFVII, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Puzzle Fighter, etc. etc.
N64: BOND!!!, Mario Kart 64, WCW Wrestling, BOND!!!!!
Conclusion = Dunno which is better, but now I'm depressed realizing that I probably wasted a year of my life playing these two consoles.
