QUESTION:

Is Twitter useful?

In 2009, Twitter became this white hot web property that everyone was talking about. Everyone from your mom to Oprah to CNN is using Twitter and their growth rate was great. But many people still don't get what the service does or if it is even useful?

Absolutely. At first it might sound like you're shouting into a void, but once you start having conversations, it get's interesting.

Depends on what you want to use it for, but I think part of the beauty of it is that it has many useful applications. You can meet people in your industry, follow your favorite celebrity, use it as a customer loyalty platform by talking directly to them, some people even use it to find jobs or dates. The key to me is that you choose who to follow. If they start to bug you, then the unfollow button is just a click away.

I know some people can't live without twitter. It's much more faster to tweet than it is to open up their email clients and type in all those fields just to send a sentence of text.
