District 9, in my opinion, must of been one of the best movies of 2009. Although there was some scenes in the movie that was disgusting, the movie's plot made me critically think about human society. The movie touched on concepts of racism and xenophobia but to a very extreme. Even though the aliens were shown to be smart, somewhat brilliant, kind, and even full of emotions, the humans in the movie treated them worst than dogs. Was it so because they were vastly different? Most likely.
I liked the movie, but some of the parts seemed to drag on. The translation aspect of the movie somewhat thew me off too. Other than that the graphics and everything else was pretty nice. The way they kiled of people was a downfall as well.. I saw this on DVD so im not sure if this was 3-D but if it was.. it was surer gore filled.
I actually though the humans deserved what they got. The aliens acted in self defense and pretty much tried to avoid fighting with the superior humans.
The scene where the humans burned the larvae farm because it was funny to hear the baby larvae scream in agony was pretty messed up.
It was too weird for me. The aliens' voices creeped me out a bit. I had no idea what to expect when I went to watch it. It wasn't my choice but I went along with it. It was OK.
It's one of the best movies I've watched in 2009 ! It really makes me feel like if it was the world we live in nowadays, if there were aliens around us !! - This Movies proved a thrilled view of our societies & our humanity !! It said that Humans will still Humans throughout the ages regarding their racism and desire to control !
