Is it good that Reality TV took over the broadcast?

I thought the Reality TV is being phased out.

Television whether it's scripted or reality will always be about stories. It's like fiction vs. non-fiction. Some people like a good fictional story like Twilight and others a good biography (I recommend Benjamin Franklin An American Life by Walter Isaacson).

I think it had it's time and place... like Real World San Francisco... but like everything else, things can get overdone and then it's back to basics of TV which i think is a more balanced mix of programming.

Don't you think a lot of reality shows are "fixed"/scripted? Maybe TV execs have been getting around paying actors and such to make top dollar on these shows.
